So, I’ve had a few of my friends ask me just how you download music from Tumblr when you see them in mp3 on posts here. I find this very useful because there are definitely amazing songs in here and it’s always nice being able to have them. I have Chrome but I believe it’s possible also for Firefox.
Installation
Firefox
- Download Greasemonkey if you haven’t already. Though this is an important tool for about any Firefox extension.
- Install Tumtaster and afterwards, restart Firefox.
- This will create an download link under each mp3 file and you simply click on it to open up the download file.
Chrome
- Download the Chrome Extension Tumtaster here and restart Chrome.
- This also allows you to create playlists from Tumblr music as well.
- This is what it should look like.
Downloading
- Press Click to Download.
- Wait for the music to load all the way when the new window pops up.
- Next right click the music and click ‘Save As’ or ‘Save Video As’. I am using an Mac so it might say something a bit different but the concept should be about the same. This will download your mp3 file.
And there you go! You have music downloaded directly from Tumblr!
you can also just right click on the “click to download” button and click save as
but yes, this is honestly one of my most favourite extensions
